Why are you crowdfunding?
A few big reasons:
- This is the indie film strategy: Operating outside the system in a way that nurtures and rewards a direct relationship with Jeff's fans old and new.
- To create a larger community that loves Jeff's work, to bring those who love Llamasoft on this adventure with me, and maybe help more of you find each other.
- Traditional financing channels will take too long. If I finance this documentary only in the traditional way, it will take way longer - maybe even years longer - to even get started making the film, if it gets made at all. I know a LOT of people who believe this is the time for a documentary about Llamasoft. I've put thousands of dollars of my own money into this project because I feel the same way. I believe this is a timely story worth sharing. But I can't do it alone. I need your help to get to the finish line.
- One of the goals of this crowdfunding campaign is to illustrate to film distributors, who control the traditional means to reach large audiences, that there is an enthusiastic population of Llamasoft fans eager for a film about Jeff and his work.
